I love the character of Kagura from the series Inuyasha. She's beautiful, wild, free, knows her mind and don't take no shit, yo. I was extremely saddened to find out that she "dies" in the manga and I certainly hope that she didn't die, but instead just changed forms. One, she would have finally gotten her wish to be truly free, two, it would piss Naraku off. Wouldn't it be neat if she came back and somehow helped to put him out of their misery at the end?

Anyway, this is inspired by Kagura after her "change." I figure the scar on her would change or disappear and I decided to change it to give her "wings."

Pencil sketch on paper, colored in Photoshop CS.

I really like the "mist" blowing around her, it makes the entire thing look very delicate.

The colors are wonderful! Even though it's clearly from a pencil sketch, I think it's much better than lots of that other fan art out there; you really have a great sense of balance. It really evokes wind and movement

I adore the patterns on her robes. o.o They are quite lovely... The butterfly on her back is simply perfect.

I knew it would be beautiful, but it's more beautiful than I imagined! I love her expression, her fan, the flow of her robes that's so natural... Everything about it is perfect. :hugs: You're amazing.

This turned out absolutely beautiful. Of course, I adore Kagura (gee, I even spent all day Saturday running around an anime convention dressed up as her). I, too, am not happy with what happens to her in the manga, and like other fans, continue to clutch straws at hope that perhaps she merely transformed... It was a beautifully done story-line, though. I just hope that when they *eventually* start the anime again and get to that scene that they give Kagura a beautiful insert song (if Kikyou gets one in episode 124, Kagura deserves it too).

Anyway, I especially love the flow of her kimono, the colors, and the butterfly - a really nice touch.

KAGURA! Whee! I LOVE the fact you made the mark on her back a butterfly as a symbol. Very touching. :D And I really like the way she looks so.... er... very much like a poised, beautiful woman.

Kagura's got to be one of the characters in Inuyasha that I'm the most fond of, and you definitely did her a lot of justice in this picture. :)

Absolutely stunning :omg: I love what you did with this one, you captured her grace perfectly. Even if I hadn't known who she was, I would have gotten the feeling of wind in there :)

That's a seriously gorgeous picture and I love the idea of the butterfly tat. All in all this is wonderfully done!

Better to die than to live without killing!'
